Run Science Park stands out for its ability to seamlessly integrate various functions within a single space. It acts as a complex of offices, intelligent design, and work-life balance, providing a platform for sharing, technology information exchange, and the flow of ideas on creativity and ecology. This multi-functional approach sets it apart from conventional industrial parks, making it a truly unique and dynamic space.
One of the key strengths of Run Science Park lies in its distinctive architectural form. The design features a lifting structure that elevates the building off the ground, creating an open and inviting atmosphere. The interlocking and shifting forms add to its visual appeal, making it a standout structure in the cityscape.
Materials such as glass, aluminum panel, and paint have been carefully selected to bring the design to life. These choices not only enhance the aesthetics of the park but also contribute to its functionality and sustainability.
With a project area of 120,000 square meters, Run Science Park offers ample space for various activities. The design allocates 75 percent of the area for offices, 5 percent for flexible spaces, 5 percent for exhibitions, and 15 percent for complex functions. This thoughtful distribution ensures that the park can cater to a wide range of needs and adapt to future requirements.
Run Science Park also takes into consideration its relationship with the city and the industrial complex. The sunken plaza provides a unique spatial experience, allowing sufficient sunlight to reach underground areas. The building facade reflects the design's core concept of combining technology and ecosystem, creating a harmonious blend of modernity and nature.
The project, which started in October 2017 and was completed in January 2020, is a result of extensive research and collaboration. Run Science Park utilizes the surrounding industrial resources and infrastructures of Guangzhou Science City to establish the China Resources Land Industrial Cluster. This cluster is dedicated to the technical development of the internet industry, animation industry, and smart architecture, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Despite the challenges faced throughout the project, such as establishing a versatile office area and creating an ecosystem, Run Science Park has emerged as a testament to the power of innovative design. It has successfully revitalized public spaces in the industrial park and created a vibrant and open environment for collaboration and sharing.
Recognized for its excellence, Run Science Park was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2020. This prestigious accolade is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional creativity, practicality, and innovation. Run Science Park's integration of industry best practices and its positive impact on the community make it a deserving recipient of this esteemed award.
Run Science Park is not just a physical space; it is a symbol of progress and a catalyst for innovation. With its emphasis on connectivity, sharing, and technology, it is set to shape the future of industrial parks and inspire a new generation of designers and architects.
